This one makes me appreciate volume 1 more. The art in this one is muddier, the story slower. Being unexplained in the past is jarring. And the dragon just isn't all that compelling. And the book kind of drags. I was expected just a little bit more. 2.5 of 5.

Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, especially the 3 chapters from when
SpoilerRinn and Aedhan went flying to when they ate the food Rinn made for Aedhan to prevent him from feeling left out.
The art is more eye candy than the first book but unlike the tea dragon society, this one had the scenes being a lot more disjointed and slice-of-life than forming a complete story arc.

This was just as cute and whimsical as book one, with a story just as cozy and heart warming. More backstory on Erik and Hesekiel was so lovely to read, and once again, the art style is absolutely stunning.

I love the way Katie manages to weave in such reassuring themes to these stories. Valuing yourself for what you do, no matter how small you believe your impact is, is such a wonderful message. I didn’t connect with this story quite as much as I did with the first, so I’ve left off a star there. I miss the focus on the tea dragons, as fun as getting to know a big dragon was.

The inclusivity of these graphic novels is such a strength. This one includes ASL and I love how everything is just accepted and celebrated in this world.
