I don't know if the moral of this book was "some people have a messed up life more than yours, so suck it up and deal with it". because honestly I didn't get it, why some authors write a whole book about some serious problems without giving us any hope that things will be better at least in the end, because "that" end didn't mean anything to me, I started this book with sympathy and I ended it with frustration, hatred and heartache. It's not that I hated this book, nope I didn't, I definitely didn't like it either. I just don't know, I hate books that make me sad and then nothing no solution, no better world, no happily ever after. So I don't know how to rate this book I don't even have a range so I'll go with 2 stars just because I did this to myself and picked this up without reading the plot first. may be I'd have liked this more some other time.

parker before the party: head of the cheerleading squad, perfect student, frequently seen with popular friends and a hot boyfriend.
parker after the party: not a cheerleader. not doing her homework or going to class or seeing her friends or brushing her hair.
parker's voice is believable and intriguing as summers explores just what happened at that party. (and it's not what i thought, either!)

This is probably my favourite Courtney Summers' book. I loved all the characters and how they supported but also didn't let Parker get away with shit. Parker's mental healthy and how the author presented it was the highlight. The mystery was interesting but the reveal was a bit underwhelming as it sometimes felt like an afterthought.

Heartfelt book, I identified with the mixed likeability and unlikeability of the narrator - she was a character who was incredibly wrapped up in her own guilt and although I guessed the ending, it was still a fresh twist in the way in which her perspective made you want to shake her by the shoulders and simultaneously give her the biggest hug.
