Don’t read this if you’re looking for happily ever after - it’s a more realistic look on what’s possible and impossible when you reach the emergency ward.

I love the author's writing style. In the preface of this book he writes that his goal is to show what it feels like to work in an emergency department. I think he has succeeded.

This was a quick read memoir for me to gobble up about an ER doctor and his experiences. I devoured this in one sitting (well technically two because I had to get out of the bath because the water was cold😉).

I really enjoyed reading the stories and his commentary on the morality and a doctor's obligation in different situations. I did have to skim past some more detailed descriptions of procedures a couple of times, but overall this was such an enjoyable read.
