Great! I stopped reading for a while because I was struggling through the middle, but when I picked it up a few months later I liked the story a lot more. I do wish there was a trigger warning at the beginning because some heavy stuff is randomly brought up, but I loved the story. Great book :)

went in thinking this was just going to be some okay summer story but OH WOW. I didn't expect to get attached (and a lot of times relate) this much with the main characters and their feelings, and it definitely didn't make me tear up a couple times 🤡

seeing them overcome their fears and become a better version of themselves made me just as happy as they were. and idk it made me feel very hopeful in general so, even if its not the best thing ever, I can't get myself to give it anything less than 5 stars just for that fact

This book was a lot more intense than I  expected it to be, and the pacing felt weird at times because of how the book jumps from one perspective to another. That being said, I did get invested in the charachters while reading this, and I finished the book in just a few days.
One of the things I will say is that I really did appreciate the representation in this book, especially when it came to juvenile arthritis.

I read this in a day during finals, which should give you an idea of how addictive, sweet, and awesome this book is. If you want a cute summer friendship book, 10/10 recommend. Bonus points for lgbtq rep and not sounding like it was written by a boomer.

When Skyler and Scarlett’s parents’ marriage falls apart, their mother takes them to their lake house where they will be spending the summer with their “aunts” (their mom’s bffs) and their daughters.

There’s so much to love about this novel: found family, sisterhood, queer rep, an Indian & Muslim MC and so much more. It’s an engaging read, told from the perspective of all four teens, and one I didn’t want to put down. But I found the girls (apart from Skyler) really hard to relate to. And the narrative kind of came apart in the end for me (I can’t really say why without spoilers).

A solid 3.5 which I’m rounding up for just being a female centric novel with a fairly diverse set of characters.

Also, this book makes me officially old, as Skyler and Scarlett’s mom rages to 90’s Alanis. Like, I know I’m technically old enough to have teenagers, but I don’t expect to be confronted about that fact when I’m reading a novel. I guess that’s what I get for reading YA at my age. LOL

More like 3.5 stars. It was just okay. Things worked out a little too easily. Just too young adult for me I guess. I would recommend it to a teen.

It's like a knock-off not as good version as Girls of July by Alex Flinn.
