This was my second time reading this book. What stood out to me was the repetition. I found it grating at times. Marie is trying to instil the importance of her personal experience and methods by repeating the same things over and over and while it helps you remember it also was annoying. Overall the concept is simple but there are details that are a little too woo woo for me. Perhaps this is also why it’s not the best fit for me.
When I first read this book years ago I was fairly inspired and upon trying the methods (with some modifications against her advice) I did have some success. For a year or two after I remember being very conscious of what I brought into my life so as not to accumulate belongings and clothing that didn’t spark joy. This faded with time and mine not been able to keep things tidy. I think there are a few things to take into consideration that just don’t align with 2024, Shnot very body positive, she doesn’t have options or understand neurodivergence.
