Karin Slaughter knows how to write thriller and keep a story going. Parts of the book were pure entertainment and I really like how she developed the idea of maybe not really knowing another person as well as you think you do, even your mother.
I did find the daughter, Andy, to be really tedious after a while. She was so immobilized by her normal life that when things got crazy, she tended to be immobilized frequently. I found myself impatient with not only the character, but also the author, for making me sit in her immobility for so much of the book. I also found some of the descriptive writing to be overdone, although some of it was lovely. After a while, some of the story also became very predictable. So overall, I enjoyed it, but not my favorite book of the year.

Chapeau!

I love the concept of this book, but found some parts got boring and dragged out.
So far nothing of hers is on the same level as pretty girls.

Amazing book! I was hooked on Andy’s story from the very first page and wasn’t able to put it down until I finished it.
