Wow where do you get this Nick? Sweeps this woman off her feet after her divorce from an abuser and loves her two children and spoils them. Silly cute love story with minimal smut but it’s quality 😬

This was the perfect book to end the year on! Quick, sweet, spicy, and best of all... no unnecessary third act breakup or miscommunication!

I loved seeing Shae open up and Nick make the world better for his girls. Is it an insta-love Hallmark of a story? Yep! Did I devour it knowing what was going to happen the entire time? Yep!

There are quite a few editing errors that I was surprised made it into the final product (even some where the POV changes). Other than that, this could have been 5 stars.

I really liked the relationship between the male main character and the female main characters kids. I do think the book was a little long and the conflict between the two main characters was repetitive. There was a part of the book where the characters would say “go team“ and I thought that was really cute throughout the book. I would recommend the book for anyone who enjoys the single parent, trope, in the Christmas mood, and likes spicy books.

Hmmm… yeah this book wasn't great. It was a fast read and there were parts that I liked, but I don’t think it was that good. There were quite a few typos, and a few times the sentences were so wonky that it took me out of the story. I never really felt myself rooting for the couple until the very end, and honestly Shae irritated me. I understand that she has trauma and she likes to be in control, but the constant stubbornness was annoying to me. It felt like her and Nick had the same conversation every time they were together about her needing to accept his help, but she didn’t want to. It was irritating lol. I just think she could’ve been written better so show her trauma without her coming off so annoying. It was pretty insta lovey, and I don’t think I love that.  Also, some of the spice?? A little cringe. Some of it was good, but some of it wasn’t.

TLDR; Wasn’t for me, didn’t love the characters and their relationship that much, but it was a fast Christmas read.

“Why aren’t you over there, making marshmallow forts for an elf? Because they’re not you.”

This follows Shae 35 who has two daughters and Nick 42 who has a Son named Connor 24. Connor and Shae matched on Tinder but it was only a one-time date. After a tough divorce and friends encouraging her to go out Conner Invites Shae and her daughters to Thanksgiving as friends as it’s her first one alone with the girls. But is there an alternative motive?

This was so much fun. The elf on the shelf idea was so wonderful. Nick was perfect, understanding, patient and kind. This man's consent and validation of Shae need to be in control was beautiful. Shae is strong but under a lot of stress due to a recent divorce that left her rattled and trying not to fail her daughter’s.
I will say I did not enjoy the nickname Sugarplum. Also, what happened to Connor?!? Why didn’t he show up on Christmas? I was expecting more with Connor’s storyline. Shae is stubborn and it irritated me throughout the book but I understand why she came across that way. This is a personal issue as my husband is stubborn and drives me up the wall.
Overall it was a fantastic read and the spice was delicious.

None of the characters were likable. I didnt like Nicks character at all he ignored her wishes and acted very manipulative. Shea was just plain annoying and whiny.

So stinking cute!! Nick was so adorable! I'm a sucker for the cowboy hat trope fr. Was this kinda cliche and anti climatic? Yes. Do I care? No.
