descriptionThis cover is OK. It's a bit on the boring side. It doesn't give you any hint to what the story is about. I am also not a huge fan of the font used. Like I am always saying an awesome book deserves an awesome cover and this one just falls a bit short in that regard.description

descriptionSo Wowza...I am not sure where to begin with this one. I thought book one rocked, but this one took the awesomeness to a WHOLE other level.

It's been five years since Emmalyn and Kodah were rescued from slavery but wounds are still festering, and evil is still lurking around corners. For the past five years, Kodah has watched over Emmy. Keeping an eye on her hoping one day, she will be strong enough to remember him. Remember their love for each other. Emmalyn has spent that time slowly healing but afraid that remembering will destroy all the progress she makes. With the news that someone from their shared past is after Emmy again, Kodah is tired of waiting, and it is time to bring his girl home.

So like I said I LOVED this so completely (well ALMOST completely. I had ONE small issue). It was fantastically well written and paced. It had twists and turns. Hot sex scenes. It was dark at times. It was twisted at times. It was heartbreaking at times. It was hopeful at times. It had a great cast of secondary characters. I can't wait for J.B and Bailey's book. I hope Buck gets his shit together because I need a book with him as the hero as well. Both Emmalyn and Kodah were fantastic main characters. All wrapped up in a tear-inducing ending.

This was almost 5-Stars but ONE teeny tiny issue kept me from completely loving it. I am going to post that problem in spoiler tags so DO NOT read if you don't want to be spoiled.
SpoilerBook one was a very hard book to read. Child sex slavery and what both Emmalyn and Kodah went through was very HARD to get through for me. In this one, I wanted to see them moving on and healing from their pasts. I wanted the physical pain they endured while captives to be 100% completely over. So I did not like the fact that Emmalyn gets raped again. For me, that felt a bit gratuitous, and the scene and the aftermath all could have been the same without it having had gone as far as having the one thing that had always been Kodah's taken away from them. For ME that took a little bit away from their romance.

All in all, though this was a FANTASTIC read and this author has earned herself a spot on my "favorite authors" list for sure. Two HUGE thumbs up from yours truly.description
