I have a love and hate relationship with this book. I loved the gaming 'world' the author created, the OASIS. I loved the story itself.

What I didn't like? The one dimensional characters that we had to follow through it all. Aech, Art3mis, Parzival, and Shoto were so hardly developed as people. Not to mention, Wade/Parzival was an annoying little shit with his constant 'I know everything about everything, let me prove to you I know everything about War Games, Monty Python, etc'. It got annoying fast (even though they were supposed to be like that).

Oh, I did like the IOI/Sixers. They were the perfect foil foil, but they too were a bit under developed (but not as bad as the main and supporting characters).

I don't regret reading it, was a fun book.

I liked the last 70 pages.

I thought there was more potential for world building and the character development for the main characters wasn’t very strong.

A good, fun read. Struggled more than I should because I HATE the main character. Despise him.

The other cast is brilliant!

I feel like Wil Wheaton should win a Grammy for this audiobook. Such a great job, he made it come alive!

Also, this book should be one that gets taught in schools in the future
