Held too much of a focus on sexual interactions, and experiences in sex than what was implied, and on us being animals which I personally don't believe to be true at all, the book mentioned non human animals far too often for what I can personally handle in a book.

I have been in a difficult place in my life and this book has opened a path forwards. I don’t know that it will be easy to change how I think, but many of the ways in which I have felt stuck or lost or misunderstood can definitely be helped with these new ways of thinking. I am going to recommend it to everyone I know.

A challenging, thoughtful, and informative read that helps the reader become more aware of the (seemingly endless) binaries we are forced into by our culture and discusses strategies to challenge these, while stopping frequently to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Definitely a book I want to read again and sit with longer.
