I found this little book really tough to get into, and quite slow overall. I did enjoy the second half, during which Howard’s love for books and learning holds a more prominent place. It’s inspiring to read how he hustled to afford his cravings for stories and knowledge!
I wouldn’t recommend this book perse, but having read it, and having read up on Howard Spring, I would be interested to read his novels.
