officially done my TJR kick for now.
the relationship between ben & elsie was far too similar to that of my girlfriend & i, therefore making this storyline increasingly difficult to navigate. i experienced the loss, the pain, and the fear of independence, as elsie did, but knowing that i have a partner who is alive & well, made the connection to the story even harder.
i think this is a story that you’ll only ever fully comprehend if you’re in love, not have been, are. it was a gutwrenchingly beautiful book, leaving me with a strong fear of bicycles and an inability to imagine life without my love.
