Popsugar Reading Challenge 2020: A book that passes the Bechdel test

My rating is more of a 3.25 - 3.5 (I haven't really decided yet.)

This book was surprisingly easy to read! It was really fun, and I think I would've liked it a lot as a kid.

I will say, though, that when the witch died, it seemed like the story became more drawn out, and it really didn't feel necessary! The book could've been maybe 30-50 pages shorter, and if it were, I would've given it another star.

But overall, really enjoyed myself!

I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. It was an audible freebie and the narration was also quite good.

This edition is lovely, with the original artwork included in colour. I read it to my youngest, one chapter a night as a bedtime story. It's been years since I read this one and I had definitely forgotten some things were in this book. No spoilers, and nothing bad, I just misremembered certain bits as being in one of the sequels.

Children will find the book entertaining, especially if you do voices for the different characters.
