beach/ vacation read that very closely follows an episode of Castle. More fun than the first book, but still took me an unusually long time to read.

Just what I expect of a "Richard Castle" book. It's funny and entertaining.

Entertaining, but, like the first book, nothing particularly special. Like the first book, the key to the mystery was obvious in the first 20 minutes. I generally like my mysteries with a little more mystery than that. Also, I was disappointed with how easily Rook got off the hook for how badly he violated Heat's boundaries with his article. But it's summer, and a few mindlessly entertaining books are ok on any summer reading list, so I'll keep on with the series

It was like watching Castle... but more like back to back episodes...
Love it!

Slow start picks up around the half way mark and rushes to the end. Seen the ending coming well before the characters did, but was interesting seeing how they got there.

Not exactly high literature, but a step in the right direction. The twists and turns of the plot are at a high pace as well as shocking and emotionally devastating at times. It hits some topics that the writers probably wish they could get away with on broadcast television. Castle fans will enjoy a more thorough character development of the assistant detectives.

More of the same. If you liked the first one, you'll like the second one.
