was fun, didn't really like the style at times but ig it's just bc it's old lol
i liked the mystery, although it wasn't the most engaging thing to me. i probably wouldn't read it again, but i might read other nancy drew books
relatively quick read - i put it on hold for a while (literally took me a year) but read the majority of it in one night at a birthday party lol, and then finished it kinda slowly but surely

Nancy Drew was an important part of my childhood. Now as an adult I wanted to be reminded of what started my love for mystery.

a fun short children/intermediate reader's mystery. at first i kept putting this one down because the language was a little stiff(?) for me because it read as a bit too formal for me especially for a children's book. eventually the pace picked up some more for me and i got used to the writing so it got easier and quicker to read.
Spoileralso it was a little annoying that the answer was right there on the title and cover art hahah (my digital copy only had the secret of the old clock story) but i don't know if i would've made that instant connection to the mystery if i read this as a kid.
i understand why this is a classic children's series.

I was itching for a quick read and this nostalgic little beauty caught my eye in the library. It was just as fun reading it as an adult. Predictable. But still fun

I'm so excited to finally be diving into the Nancy Drew series! I gave this one only 3 stars because I was disappointed by the lack of any real mystery. It was a sweet story, though.

As a huge fan of the Nancy Drew PC games by Her Interactive, I was really excited to read the original source material. This book is a classic children's mystery for a reason, and I can see why it held such appeal when it was published. This being said, I found the mystery surprisingly dull and the stakes to be quite low. There wasn't much of a mystery or a twist for me, though Nancy is a fun character and I can see where the series builds from this original story.
