I enjoyed it but it's not my favourite KJ Charles. The tone is quite different and I found the characters were more negative than I'm used to in her work.

This book was a miss for me. While I find KJ Charles to be a really talented writer, the dynamic between Archie and Daniel was dysfunctional at best and toxic at worst. Even though Archie chooses Daniel at the end, it feels reluctant given his hostility throughout the early book. Even more than hostility, his overt homophobia, racism and anti-Semitism make him pretty irredeemable to me. Learning the errors of his ways does not absolve him of being a straight up jerk to his love interest.
