I got a big fat MEH for this book... It sounded like someone vanilla wrote it. On top of that it judges the scene way too harshly. It talked about how there were weak needy women in the scene. That may be true, but there are some damaged ppl out there that need 24/7 control and others who need to be controlled 24/7. That's what makes them feel safe etc. Also it judged the small groups that some communities make. It's ridiculous considering the type of Dom she tried to portray who had just gotten to the scene not even a year before... Rolls eyes...
I bet she is just as vanilla as they come and just did some quick research and has never been under a whip cuz if she had she would know that everyone has different needs and just like in vanilla couples there are some that need to be constantly with one another and others that work better independently it doesn't make either relationship less valid....
Although she makes some good points on how ppl do gather often to just get a more exciting sex life it doesn't take away from who each individual is and what they need or want as far as intimacy.
Plus the whole the sub has the power!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's one of the biggest lies told to vanilla ppl. If the Dom is worth his salt the sub wont even know what hit em...

Yet again I am left wondering...what makes a book/story erotica?? Is it the other than vanilla sex that may be included? Because if that is the case, then yes, this qualifies. However, if we are just talking explicitness/amount of sex then this is just a nice romance story.
This novel reads like a Nora Roberts tale. A beautiful romance that blooms for our hero and heroine, and there is even a bad guy who gets what is coming to him. In fact, if the sex were just plain regular sex, then this book would be sold at the grocery store -- but no, because the sex is D/s and is a bit more risque then it is erotica/porn.

In any case, I liked this story quite a lot. The sex was hot, the story was good, and the main characters were a bit more than 2-dimensional.

Didn't finish. The writer would repeat the same thing, sometimes internal struggle sometimes feelings, for multiple paragraphs and it became tiresome. We get it already.
