Single POV. This was a fun read. Autumn was enjoyable and while I had suspicions about some things there were still surprises at the end. BUT I’m VERY angry that it ended like that and book 2 isn’t out yet?! Or even listed on goodreads. I need it. A spy/mafia family type story and Autumn is on a mission. I liked how teenagery she was acting with some things but I truly loved how she grew by the end.

Rule 25: Don’t Fall for the Target
By: Charleigh Frederick

If you are looking for a YA romance spy novel that’s fast paced, full of twist and has an awesome FMC this is the book for you!

This book follows Autumn who is the daughter of a major spy family, one day she is sent on a mission to spy on Kato and learn about his family.

This book is gripping from start to finish and I cannot wait for book number two!!

Thank you so much to the author for sending me this book in exchange for a honest review.

Okay WOW ! First, I’d like to thank Charleigh for sending me a copy of this book and for your patience while I took my time with it and this review!

Rule 25: Don’t Fall for the Target is a fast-paced novel with many twists and turns. You’re left constantly trying to look around the metaphorical corner of where these characters will take you next and who will be there when they do. I loved how each chapter title was a rule alluding to the events of the chapter, but could still keep you guessing. I was a little put off by how Autumn was so easily distracted from her mission and was ready to pivot her goals to be with Kato, but then again I was also 17 once and can’t say for certain I wouldn’t have done the same thing. The plot twist and cliffhanger had me at the edge of my seat and itching to find out what happens next! All-in-all very enjoyable read!

So this story centers around Autumn, who is not your average girl. Autumn is actually a part of a big crime family. She’s been raised with a bunch of rules to follow for example Rule 10: Only Trust Family.

She is finally given her first solo mission, to infiltrate Kato and his family home. The hard part is knowing how much Kato actually knows about his family’s past and what she can believe.

I will be honest Autumn irritated me a few times lol. Like telling Kato her real name right away or when she knew she was falling for him but didn’t want to leave the mission when given an out. I had to remind myself she was only 17 and had technically been sheltered from dating and normal teenage activities. This to me showed me how good this was written. I realized I was probably the same way when I was young. Always going for what wasn’t “allowed”.

It was a great read and I’m definitely excited to read the next book when it comes out. It left me wanting more!

Thank you so much @charleighswrite for letting me enjoy this thrilling story!

Friends this was a pleasant surprise! I devoured this read in one day, it’s very fast-paced and extremely entertaining. The chapters are nice and short, most ending in a cliffhanger. This was totally outside of my usual genre, but I’m hooked and I’m excited to see more of this series from @charleighswrite

This was a great YA spy novel! Very fast paced, some good twists, easy to follow, and super interesting.

We follow Autumn, a 17 yr old spy, as she tries to get close to a rival spy family's son to gain intel and all the hijinx and mishaps that happen while she's doing that. I felt for Autumn as she tried to fit in with non-spy people and the romance was very sweet (or was it? ;)). For the most part this book is light, but there are some darker moments that give the story dimension.

Some things that I think detracted from the story-- I felt that our FMC was too good at everything but that's basically every FMC in every YA book. You're also really hit over the head about the rules and her inner monologue is a little repetitive.

Thanks to Charleigh Frederick for the ARC!

This was such a fun, fast-paced read! The writing was engaging and I loved the characters! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it because I’m not really into spies, but honestly it’s so good! I would happily read another book if it were made into a series (please Charleigh, I need to know what happens with Autumn
