The fact that this book is nonfiction but kept my interest like a fiction read is surprising. I decided to read this because I saw the trailer for the show premiere and it’s always #bookfirst if I can help it. The vast differences and similarities between the 3 women is probably the most interesting and they show up as themes in the book (love, heartbreak, desire, intimacy, anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, grief, and more).  Anddddd Justice for Maggie because that trial was a mess and I have no law experience but so much was missed! I’m excited to start the show now but also curious to know where and how these women are doing today.

I'm disappointed because the description left me wanting more than what I'd read. Actual representation of the diversity of women's desire. Much more of a focus on trauma, not much analysis or commentary? No sense of closure or reflection on the parts of the main women?

This book is mid AF. Very white, very heteronormative.

I'd go as far as to say this book has changed my life! It's relatable, affirming and devastating all at once. I want to grab each woman by the shoulders and shake her awake from her stupor, whilst at the same time wanting to hug her tight and tell her she's not alone. I'd give anything to read this book for the first time all over again! A must read.
