ate this up in practically a day. revealing and intriguing. my interest ranking: maggie, sloane, lina. interesting prose from the author of describing things. explores female desire. read like fiction with how bewildering it was esp maggie. very taboo. the research the author dedicated to create is impressive.
surprised that the title and cover are so plain for such a heavily researched project, it doesn’t give any impression of what it’s actually about

The author shares the stories of three women and the details of their relationships with significant men in their lives. All three stories were engaging and intriguing. However, they seemed a bit imbalanced to me because Maggie's story (that of a teen who becomes involved with her teacher) could've been a book of its own. While all the stories were emotional, that one just felt much heavier than the others.
Most of the book is written in straightforward prose that allows for smooth reading, but every now and then, the author hits you with a simile thrown in that feels forced and takes you out of the book.
I also would've appreciated it if the author had chosen a more diverse group of women. Perhaps this book concept could be extended into a series that includes some women of color.
