Twin, where have you been? Loved this novel so much, I'd highly recommend.

I loved this, the parody of a classic gothic novel is written in a way that makes the whole reading experience very entertaining and it’s very obvious that Austen on occasion thinks Catherine is very stupid. I enjoyed the plot and the character’s development and I thought the unlikeable characters were written pretty convincingly.
I would love to know how it would have felt to read the book at the time of publication. I think it would’ve been even better and more relevant then.

I feel like this is a 4 star book but I just really enjoyed reading it. The plot and especially the ending wasn’t the most innovative but the writing style I LOVED. It was so funny and the characters were so well written. And it was packed with themes like gender, consumerism, marriage culture and money and writing about writing. Honestly brilliant and I’m gonna read more Austen novels now.
John and Isabella Thorpe are truly the most annoying characters I’ve ever read. I audibly sighed and gasped whenever they ruined things for Catherine but it was done in SUCH a funny way.
I read a review saying that even though Catherine’s greenness was sometimes annoying it’s impossible to hate her cause she’s just so kind and I agree so much with that

Easily my favorite of Austin's books that I've read so far, although I wouldn't argue that it's the best. It is the most obviously funny, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
