Briar and Lucas are meant to hate one another lord knows their families do but fate has other plans. Their story is one of Romeo and Juliet, only better because isn't everything better with supernaturals. Kim knows how to write intense love, it is full of some many emotions that pull at your heart. You'll be ruined, left only wanting to be loved the way Lucas loves his wild wolf Briar. Starting the next book right now.

I am loving finding out who Lucas's is and his story. I am a fan of Bryer. It intrigues me the shifter vampire combination and seeing how they will make that work when they are enemies. The way that ended I had to go straight onto the next. Also Nick is a dick.

I was waiting for K. Loraine to give us Lucas's story and she did not disappoint. Pull me in and keep me hooked, I could not stop listening. Lucas is a half breed and because of this, the expectations of him are different. He has been given a task, but he can't even complete it the way his father intended. Briar is a shifter, and finds herself drawn to Lucas. But the two can't be together. Different species, families that will never be together, these two are fated for failure. Plus her family has already promised her to someone else. What will become of this couple? I can't even begin to say how much I love this book. It's smart, sassy, sexy, and the plot captured my mind. Weaving the watchers in, letting us enjoy seeing characters from other series is just icing on the cake( this book does not require you to have read the others). This is my kind of entertainment and I am not even a paranormal listener! I can't wait for Midnight Hunger to see how it all plays out!

K. Loraine picks her narrators carefully and casting Shane East and Stella Hunter is gold. East is the perfect voice for Lucas. He is warm and passionate, yet can instill fear in a heartbeat. I love his playful charm. Stella Hunter is fast becoming a favorite of mine as she finds the heart of her characters. As Briar, she is so strong and confident, and feels a fierce passion which is easily felt in her inflections. Fantastic performance and incredible team!

If you’ve read the previous books in this series, know this book is a little lighter. Lucas Blackthorne, as shown in those previous books, is a vampire with a heart. He’s torn between his human nature and loyalty to his family. I loved that this book gave us Lucas’s backstory. That we got to find out about his lost love and what happened there. I adore Lucas and Briar together. There are characters that you will hate—some of which, if you read the prior books, know got what they deserved and that made it all worthwhile.
I am excited to start the next book and join them on their present day journey.

Stella Hunter and Shane East were absolutely fabulous in this book. Vampire Shane is something everyone needs in their live…and a vampire with a heart is even better. The way he performed the conflict the character was dealing with was brilliant. And Stella, I just love everything she does. Their voices work incredibly well together and it’s a joy to listen to.

This is book four of the series, I suggest you read the previous ones to know more about the story but it can be read as standalone as it is the beginning of a new series as well. Lucas a vampire and Briar a wolf shifter, two species that are not supposed to be together but they are fated mates. I really enjoyed the book and the story, I wish they get to be in audiobook, it got me on a rollercoaster of paranormal romance that I loved. Great recommendation.

Once again Kim Loraine proves why she is and always will be one of my absolute favorite authors! This book wrecked me. If you didn’t feel the love, longing and heartbreak as you read, you didn’t read it right.

Kim Loraine made me fall even more in love with Lucas. Just from the glimpses we got of him in Cashel’s story I fell for him, but now I’m never letting him go!! Lucas was a bad boy with a big soft heart, especially when it came to Briar. Lucas, ever the wild untamed Blackthorne. I fell, hook line and sinker for this beautiful man.

And my goodness, Briar. This beautiful, rebellious, wild soul. Briar is one of my favorite heroines I have ever read!! She is strong and resilient, she fights and is loyal to herself and those she cares deeply for. She is without a doubt a “lovely wild wolf”.

“I wasn’t saving it for anyone but me, Mother. My body isn’t a prize for a man. It’s mine to do with as I see fit.”

The chemistry and soul deep love that Briar and Lucas shared was absolutely stunning. I was literally swooning all over the place.

“I will. I swear to you, everything I know you will. Everything we do, we’ll do together. I will not leave you to wade through this alone. You are mine to protect and cherish.” “And you’re mine.”

Throughout this story I was completely and utterly captivated. The push and pull; the honor, duty and loyalty; the desire and love. This story had it all. I felt every emotion as these character wadded through love, loss and life. I was right there with them from page one until the very end. The feeling Kim Loraine invokes from me as I read is nothing short of
astonishing.

*that cliffhanger though!!!*

Kim Loraine is beyond talented. She makes me fall in love with her characters, her storylines and all around feel when I read. I could get lost in her stories for hours, days, weeks on end. A forever reader right here.
