Jake and Cheyenne’s story has everything that I love about the Clementine Creek series – laughter, fierce love, swoony heroes, amazing friendships and loving family. Alexandra Hale has managed to infuse so much story and detail into this novella without overwhelming the reader.

Every girl needs a guy who is going to serenade her with an air guitar in a busy dress shop – right? I love how Jake falls first and then gently but persistently pursues Cheyenne until she gives him a chance. Cheyenne’s childhood experiences cause her to fear that she isn’t enough for Jake to stick around long term. But he is so sure of his love for her and their future together that he works hard to alleviate her fears.

Though this story has only just been released, in the timeline of the series it falls at the very start. We have already seen Jake and Cheyenne’s happily ever after, I loved getting to see their beginning.

Omg! Awwww!!! Seeing how Jake and Cheyenne started was adorable! They fit so perfectly together! She didn’t believe she was ready for forever and he knew it the second he saw her! What a fun ride those two are!

This one is for all of us who are hard to love and second guess the fact that we may be 'too much' for everyone.

Listen, Hale has me hooked in Clementine Creek. This short novella was just what I needed for a quick visit back to the amazing CC Crew. Set before the novels, we get a peek into what makes up Jake and Cheyenne.
