Gregor Samsa a gentlemen, breadwinner of his family wakes up one day suffering from bad dreams only to discover that he has transformed into a gigantic insect.
The metamorphosis is not just about how Gregor has transformed into an insect, a lot more has transformed along with his shape. Apparently the new form of Gregor is so utterly repulsive that none of his family members wish to bear a sight of their own son or brother.
