This would have been a better book if Jake hadn’t acted like such an ass on so many occasions. I liked his character and his honest feelings for Olivia, but there were times he just needed to shut up. And Olivia was a strong, intelligent, hard working woman with a plan to save the farm, and she just kept apologizing over and over because Jake didn’t like it - but he had NO plans to save the farm. ZERO. There was even a joke about internalized misogyny, but this book is absolutely a product of internalized misogyny.

Thank you to Staci Hart for the e-ARC!
This was an adorable romance read! The book starts off with our main character's grandfather dying, where Olivia comes home to the dairy farm to grieve and figure out her inheritance. Her grandfather owned a dairy farm and while she did go away for school and had a job in the city, she always knew she would come back to the dairy farm. The dairy farm had been in the family for YEARS, so it was like her legacy. Olivia is distraught over her grandfather’s death and just wants to do her best for the farm. We also have Jake who was grandfather’s right-hand man and someone that grandpa took in as his own, he happens to be a couple of years older than Olivia. Grandpa was tricky and left both Olivia and Jake half the farm, so there is a little chaos between the two. So, they both have different ideas over what direction they should take the farm. Well, they make this bet over whoever is more successful will keep the farm, and the other one leaves, but they end up gambling their hearts instead.
This romance was adorable! It was nice to see them work on the dairy farm and grow in love. The puns used throughout this book were spot on and truly deserve to be endlessly quoted. My only complaint with the book and why it gets .5 off is that most of the perspectives were from Olivia and we rarely had one from Jake. I felt like it either should have been all from Olivia’s POV or have Jake’s view more often. I wanted more of a balance.
I do recommend this romance read because it was adorable and because the puns were spectacular.
