Good spooky season read. Not my fave though. The twist at the end was not expected but it made for a good ending of the story. The bonus scene from the Black Ball at the end makes me wonder if there will be a second book. The book was mainly in the FMC’s POV which the author said was done on purpose so you could experience the same feelings as Corvina always wondering what Vad was thinking. It succeeded. Would have loved more chapters from the MMC but I appreciate what RuNyx did there.
No real fantasy, only implied witchiness and ghosts. I liked the switch up from my usual reading.

Llevo siguiéndole la pista a Gothikana desde que se publicó en inglés, y no sabéis lo mucho que me alegré cuando se anunció que se publicaba en español. ¡Me moría por leerlo!

✅La pluma de la autora, para mí, es uno de los puntos fuertes del libro. Si bien es más lírica de lo que me suele gustar, en esta ocasión me ha encantado la forma florida que tiene de expresarse porque le va muy bien al ambiente de la novela.
✅La ambientación es uno de los puntos fuertes de la novela, puesto que consigue trasladarte perfectamente a ese aire gótico de universidad privada para gente marginada o en situaciones con pasado turbio. Muy gótico todo, y a mí me ha encantado.
✅Otro de los puntos fuertes es el romance. Uno cargado de amor pasional y con declaraciones de amor muy intensas y poéticas. Aunque hay gente a la que esto le sobra, a mí me ha gustado mucho esa romance con ambiente de obra de Poe.

A moody, heady, mysterious book. If you like murder mystery and romance, this is a good one. Not too erotica, but it does have a few scenes, so be prepared. I really loved the main characters, and I loved being in Corvina's mind. Main characters that are mentally unstable are something I relate to and I love to get a glimpse of. This is a slow burn romance, but also a mystery about a haunted(?) college/castle. It also has a good ending that wraps everything up pretty well, which I really appreciate from a book labeled as smut by some people. Would absolutely tell a friend to give this book a read, and I hope the author releases another in the same universe!
