Woah!

This book was a complete whirlwind. I haven't read a traditional mystery novel in a long time and wow this really blew my expectations out of the water. So well written, so interesting, fast paced, tense, literally had me clenching my jaw in anticipation of what Josie Fair was going to say or do next!

The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because some of the messaging at the end lost me a bit.

*MINOR SPOILER ALERT*
I didn't appreciate that it seemed like the men in this story got a bit of a redemption that I don't think they necessarily deserved. What the men in this book did should be be forgiven or forgotten. And it's not olay to victim blame a 15 year old girl for "manipulating" a 42 year old man. Very weird and for that I can't give 5 stars.

Other than that, phenomenonal! I've never read Lisa Jewel before but I certainly will now!

Let me preface this with the fact that I listened to the audiobook version which was 10/10 amazingly done. Sounded just like a podcast. So that may have something to do with my review, unclear. But I think the book was really good regardless. Psychologically thrilling, multiple viewpoints, right up my alley. I only wish there was more lol or a follow up second book, either after the events, or even prior, into Josie’s past. A well done book.

i liked the first two acts but when the theme went from being about how people who experience trauma sometimes gain the capability to harm others into how this girl is cray cray 😝 and forced an old man to date her i was kind of over it. the writing was really good but i just didn’t really fw the ending or how walter’s character was handled.

holy shit… i don’t even know where to start with this book. first of all, just the amount of twists and turns and different ways that I thought this book was gonna go and none of them was what actually happened. I still don’t even know what I think the truth actually is. if you can, I recommend listening to this on audiobook so hard it is such an immersive experience and this book is perfect on audiobook and it really gives you the full experience that I don’t know if I would’ve gotten if I physically read it. Overall this was an amazing read!!!
