Good grief, I'm glad I didn't stop reading this book because I thought it was boring! WOW!
If you set any one of the four stories in this book in front of me, informed me it was one of my all-time favorite authors, and told me to read it and tell you who it was? Roald Dahl wouldn't even be in the top 100 guesses. WOW.
"The Great Switcheroo" is my favorite. I cackled so loudly at the ending, then had to promptly tell everyone within earshot what the twist was.
This is so recommendable. HIGHLY. But be prepared for the first story, it takes a REALLY FRIGGING LONG TIME to get to the point. But it's a good point. :)

Dahl designs a character like no one else and in this series of short stories his characters leap off the page as his plot twists and turns to the surprise for the reader. It was a pleasure to read his adult writing after delighting in his stories for children.
