I won't lie to you: parts of this 70-page e-book from CakeTrain Journal and Press are disturbing. It's about two elderly brothers, Homer and Langley. Homer is blind, so Langley takes care of him. Langley has his own problem, though: he's a compulsive hoarder. The house is rotting to pieces from the inside and the out, from years of neglect and piles of newspapers and other garbage filling almost every room. Will help find Homer and Langley in time, or will it be too late?

Written in a highly unusual present tense that employs first, second, and third person narration, 'The Collectors' is a memorable work of fiction (based on the true story of the Collyer Brothers) that reads quickly. Its haunting imagery will stick with you.

This is a really great example of a Flash Novella and a non-linear narrative; beautifully constructed, and intelligently realized. It is quick and captivating to read because of its intriguing subject.
