An interesting concept with Sparks and supernatural beings. The story starts off after a major war with survivors doing their best and they aren't the most friendly of people. Elle, the main character and Spark, wakes up with amnesia and is taken in by a kindly older couple. However, unfriendly people are looking for Sparks and Elle needs to elude them.
The story starts off a little slow for me. I did like the duality of Elle. She's unique and has almost two personalities. Her Spark self and her more human self. Each exhibit different traits that make the story interesting. It was fun getting to know Elle as she struggled to regain her forgotten self.

My first book by this author and will not be my last! I thought the story line was well paced and let you get to know the characters and their magical world. Memory loss threw me and twists I did not see coming!
