I was rereading this book (the series was a childhood favorite that I used to read with my grandmother), but not even heavy nostalgia could stop the misogyny in this book from making it unreadable.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed the character development and the progression of the storyline. The mystery part felt a little recycled from gotchas from earlier in the series and Scooby Doo type antics. Some of the pet related suspense hit a little close to home for me. That was written in a way that to some might seem extreme but I found it very relatable.

This book was enjoyable, it just felt like the author had a deadline and a little less creative flow. Its a pleasant addition to this series of cozy mysteries.

This book was published in the year that I was born, and it was very obvious. It was dated and it probably wasn't all that interesting at the time of publication either. I did enjoy all the humor that was scattered throughout and it made me giggle a few times. I have a few other books in this series on my shelf that I will read, though I won't go out of my way to read the whole series.

I don't remember ever reading this book before! I'm going through the "Cat Who..." series in order, and it's really fun to see the characters and locale progress over time. the series manages to be extremely cozy - comforting descriptions of meals, décor, Qwill writing an article, cat antics - but the mysteries are very dark. I love reading this series.
