Atone Review by Ashley Rogers

4 STARS
3 JALAPENO PEPPERS

AUTHOR CASSANDRA ROBBINS
The 2nd book is a good continuation of this series. Cassandra writes a story proving that soul mates can overcome lots of obstacles and still get to be happy in the end.

NARRATOR TROY DURAN
This narrator's voice fits David's voice perfectly. He was made for this type. I have never heard a story from him he didn't make even better!!

NARRATOR VERONICA PARKER
This was my first time hearing this narrator and she was good, a little to monotone for me. I liked her pace though, there were no long pauses or background noises.

MAIN CHARACTERS
David 'Poet' McCormick 21, 30
Charlize 'Charlie' 18, 26

SETTING
Motorcycle Club
West Coast

SERIES OR STANDALONE
This is a series and should be read as one. I have a huge issue where I can't read them out of order.

STEAM TO PLOT
The steam to plot was terrific. There was enough steam to keep it spicy, but the plot moved along nicely too.

KINKS
Public/Outdoor/Witnesses
Dirty Talk
Roughish
A Play.
Shower

THINGS THAT ANNOYED ME
I wish that this would have been longer. He leaves her than seeks her out and says he's bad news. I know he's fighting demons so I get it, but I still get annoyed by it.

THINGS THAT I LOVE
The steamy scenes were well written. Charlie knows he'll be back and rocks her confidence. I like how they show people fight their demons.

This is the most ridiculous book I’ve read this year.

I don't now quite to make of this but in the end the overwhelming issues faced by the H drowned out all the rest. He did come across like the coward the h and his friends called him and I'm not sure the super short resolution at the end did much to help us like him any better.

This was such a good book. I spent most of the book hating Poet. He was such an ass to Charlie. But at the same time, he told her to run many times. I also spent time hating Charlie for always being so open to let him back. There is also the few points that make you just gush with sappy sweetness after all the a-hole things Poet does. I could t put this book down after I started it.

Atone

David/Poet and Charlie are star crossed I swear. When Charlie was almost 18, David comes up to her and tells her he wants her but naturally would need to wait until she is 18. David had a baby mamma and a child at the time but he only saw her. They had a connection and formed an unlikely friendship before all of this. Something tragic happens and David takes off. a10 years later he comes back to get revenge on the people who ruined his life. This book was amazing and intense. I listened to it through Audible but it was amazing the narrators were fantastic.
