Really good addition. Slow expected story that twists into something much more complicated and interesting.

A fast-paced story of Mercy and Adam fighting the Soul Taker magic/cursed sickle. Along the way we learn more about Sherwood Post, Wulfe, and Zee. I really enjoyed how Mercy and Adam were able to work together so smoothly. And there's more evil to come...

I enjoyed this story a lot, even though it was a little different than all of the other Mercy books. The flashbacks really helped to explain the Vampires and their relationships to each other, and the creatures were interesting. This book freaked me out just a bit, as it had a lot of horror-y elements.

I feel like this book really reeled me back into the Mercyverse. I was still reading, but the last few books haven't really pulled me in like I would have liked them to. I loved the time we are spending with Mercy and Adam and I really enjoyed the connections to the Alpha and Omega series last book. It felt like their was a stronger connection between the two than usual. The cast of characters are really a lot of fun.
