Another satisfying read in this cozy mystery series set in the small town of Hopeful. Merry March is such a likable and relatable character. I always enjoy spending more time with her. This outing introduces further family complications in the form of a visit by charming boyfriend Rob's imperious mother which sets into motion another mystery for Merry to investigate. The author always does a great job of introducing a cast of characters/suspects for the reader that leaves you guessing until the very end of the book. In some ways, the mysteries in this series take a backseat to the fun characters and charming depiction of small town life. Merry's relationship with her teenage daughter, Jenny, has always been a close one, but developments in this book test their bond in a way that parents will relate to. The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger for Merry's personal life and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Just when you think this little town is going to get a break from the bad luck... some out of town visitors bring it with them! The author is great at throwing in those teasing hints that make you question your suspicions. Another excellent addition to the series!
