I know I'm late to the party on this one but, wow, this book was fantastic. Inspiring, smart, motivating, exciting, funny, at times a bit scary, overall an amazing book for anyone interested in starting a business...and frankly, even for those who aren't.

Seriously, should be required reading for everyone.

Audiobook
Narration- excellent, various speakers
I loved this story the unique way they developed this wonderful company. Their moto, respect for each other and love of their customers is something I wish more businesses would aim for. They risked it all, they believed and they won the golden ring but they aren't relying on that ring to carry them, they are always striving for being better. There are amazing firsts, and fumbling fails but never a giving up or giving in.
I loved following the path of the most resistance with Mr. Hsieh and friends. Inspirational ? heck yeh this book is good for the developing mind and opens the mind to dreams of what could be.
The epilogue is not to be missed, stay till the end.

Felt like I had a front row seat to the history of Zappos. They definitely Deliver Happiness I had the chance to visit their Vegas office and from the moment I made contact via email to the visit at the office and emails post trip there was always a bit of happiness.

I’ve listened to this book at least 2 or 3 times a year for the last few years, and it will remain one of my favorite books of all time. After you’re done, look up the author, Tony Hsieh, and read more about him

Written by the CEO of Zappos, Tony Hsieh has written an amazing book about developing and growing a company, creating an amazing culture, cultivating your employees, and “delivering happiness”.

Everyone in our company was given a copy of the audiobook to listen to, and I absolutely loved it. I did not want to put it down. Hsieh is amazing and his stories are great examples of workplace situations both in the positive and negative. He is very down to earth, focused and culture driven despite his success with two separate companies and being so young.

Once Hsieh gets to his stories of the creation of Zappos and their company culture, development and growth, there are so many great ideas to share and incorporate into your own company. For example, one of my favorites is creating a book chart that lists all your recommended reading, then check off under each employees name as they finish the books.

Not long after finishing the book, my managers went and toured the Zappos office and came back with lots of fun photos of their company headquarters in Las Vegas. It looks like such a fun and enjoyable place to work. Their creative forces help create this amazing place to spend each day, you can’t wait to wake up and go to work. I feel lucky that my job is like Zappos.

I highly highly highly recommend this book to any and everyone out there. Wonderful and funny!!!

hmmm, Zappos in the late 90's was the place to go to get your shoes ordered online delivered the next day.
I did not know anything about Tony Hsieh prior reading the book so it was full discovery. Like a few readers before me, i found the story of his childhood very interesting, which definitely formed his character, but the rest is scattered around, full of contradictions and personal mess and mis-steps. It even felt like a frat house, the dude who tries too hard in school, the one who succeeds in everything he touches....it's a little messy and quite frankly not necessarily needed in the book
If you have the book give it a try, but if you're looking for a business book, this is not a good one in my opinion

I think Tony Hseih and the story of Zappos are super cool, especially his wacky hiring practises, company culture mentality and the way he implemented his ‘customer experience first’ value (as a gag an exec once called their call centre because they couldn’t find any open pizza places in LA and they found & listed all the nearby pizza joints still open! They have a 365 day return policy! He offered new hires $2,000 to leave the company to see if they actually cared about having a career there!)

But I just didn’t love this book. I powered through it because SO many other business books have referred to Zappos as the way to do company culture and customer experience right. This might be great for someone with a large team or a person looking for ways to manage lots of employees or develop a close knit company, but I didn’t love it.
