An interesting volume. The time jump confused me for the first couple of pages - I wish that it had been explained a little better. Other than that, I really enjoyed this volume. I'm excited to see where the next one goes.

This second volume feels a lot more whimsical in comparison to the first one. I realised that I need to reread vol. 1, which seemed to be much vaguer on many aspects of the story, and more mysterious. I enjoyed vol. 1 a tad more and was incredibly confused at the time skip. A little bubble with "8 years later..." or something would have helped so much with clarifying it. Sybilla failing at everything she does is becoming a little annoying.

The first volume ended very abruptly, so I'm not too surprised that the story is now getting a wider arc and more characters...that said, I didn't feel like this one had quite the same quirky charm that the first did. I also felt like the first pushed more boundaries with dark/creepy imagery and that this felt pretty tame overall (nothing wrong with that, just not as much flare). Overall still an interesting story and I'm excited to read more whenever it's released!

I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as the first one. The art is still spectacular but there are so many characters, and it's been so long since book one, that I didn't remember who most of them were. There is a quick synopsis at the beginning, but I would advise you read the first book close to starting this sequel for the best experience.
