I think I would give this closer to a 3.5 just because while I thought it was cute and read the entire thing in one sitting I can't say I was entranced by it. It was cute, Kevin was a piece of shit, the female friendship was okay, and it made something kind of taboo into a book for girls. So I'd say we'll done.

¡Qué ganas que tenía de leer esta novela! He oído cosas increíbles de Unpregnant de Jenni Hendriks, aunque no sabía qué esperar exactamente de estas páginas. Lo que encontré en este libro terminó siendo muy distinto a lo que me vi venir, pero sin duda lo disfruté muchísimo. Vamos, que la autora describió esta novela como un libro divertido sobre el aborto, y eso ha hecho que muchxs frunzan el ceño. ¡Ha terminado siendo algo muy entretenido de leer!
Con 288 páginas, Unpregnant posee la historia de una prueba que puede cambiarlo todo. Este es un viaje en carretera de dos chicas que solían ser mejores amigas, un relato de mucho más que el aborto y sumamente necesario en la sociedad actual. ¡Necesitamos más libros como este! Realidades como la de Unpregnant suelen ser tapadas y no discutidas en los libros, pero Jenni Hendriks posiciona el aborto bajo el reflector en esta ocasión para ofrecer en la literatura juvenil algo que rara vez vemos. Los personajes son sumamente originales y entretenidos de leer, nos encontramos ante un caso de abuso, adolescentes terminando su secundario, pensando en qué hicieron durante estos años escolares y al mismo tiempo concentradxs en lo que les depara el futuro... Además, ¡es diverso! Unpregnant es un libro que explora temáticas sumamente interesantes de una manera distinta a lo esperado, con humor y honestidad en vez de otras actitudes. ¡Sin duda lo recomiendo! Es una novela que realmente vale la pena y que nos deja un mensaje sumamente valioso tras leerlo.
¿Qué no me gustó? ¿Por qué no le doy 5 estrellas? Me sentí súper decepcionada con el final del libro en términos generales. Siento que todo acabó demasiado rápido y muchas cosas quedaron inconclusas de manera innecesaria. No disfruté eso en absoluto, debo decir :( Y no sé, siento que le faltó algo. Creo que muchas cosas podrían haber sido desarrolladas mejor, y Hendriks no parece haber tenido en cuenta la multiplicidad de perspectivas entorno al aborto que existen, dejando afuera a un porcentaje de potenciales lectores :/

Despite other characters not really acting like humans I had fun with this book. It was like reading book smart. Some parts were mediocre.

Honestly, this book was a quick read and kept me wanting to read more for it’s very bizarre plot points!
Veronica is the most Mayo character I’ve ever read and I wish she showed more depth.
Bailey said everything the audience was thinking and I appreciated that!
I do think this story needed some more emotional backing...it’s literally about a girl getting an abortion but we never feel the true weight of that. Really, she glosses over that for her friendship with another character.... which I thought was weird.
The boyfriend was insane and I wish they would have pressed charges against him for what he did. They made him seem bad but never touched on what he did as being borderline criminal??
Regardless of those issues, I like the pro choice message that is presented because it’s not something you typically see in YA.

es lindo, tiene representacion, y gracioso, es muy bueno, creo que nada más necesitaba un poco más de narración, después de eso se lee en un día, tiene lindo desarrollo de personaje y capítulos cortos, la película también es fantástica

I picked this book up because I was just intrigued by the name (and mainly the fact that it said it was ‘soon to be a movie’), and after reading the blurb I really wanted to read it.
I read it so quick and I loved it, I loved the relationship that developed between Veronica and Bailey, and it was such a funny book that I did actually laugh a little out loud to myself at some points. An easy read and a few twists that I didn’t expect, I was rooting for Veronica and wishing plague and pestilence on Kevin the whole way through.

Ame el libro, pero dios la película me gustó muchísimo más...
Lo leí bastante rápido porque me resulto fácil y adictivo de leer. Es una historia tan bizarra que al mismo tiempo habla de temas muy reales de una forma cómica.
Me gusto que se hablara un poco más seriamente sobre el aborto.
