Some very powerful topics were discussed but the layout of the novel felt rushed and too much at times. Would have preferred the author to focus more on certain topics such as adoption and identity development  rather than trying to fit so much in

This book explore the complicated past and mis understandings that occur with communication. Focuses on a mother daughter duo that were both very likeable!

I know this book is everyone's favorite but the Richardsons' rich white savior complex pissed me off so much that I could not. I just couldn't.

This book has great writing, amazing characters, and a good exposition. I love Pearl, Izzy, Mia, Mrs. Richardson, Celeste Ng is a amazing author. I love how she shows Bebe's pain while not being completly biased. This book questioned my morals in a way I never thought about. However, I wish Pearl and Mrs. Richardson interacted more. They are the two best characters and it would of been so cool. Also the direction it was going wasn't the best. Towards the end it becomes really lame.
