I read most of the series when it first came out and now I'm working my way through the entire Dark series in audio. It has been interesting to see how my opinions of characters have changed. There have been a couple so far in the series that I don't remember annoying the crap out of me when I first read the books. That said, there have been other stories that I didn't remember as well, but greatly enjoy now. This was one of those stories. I only wish it would have been a little longer.

This is one of my favourite books in the series. Falcon and Sara are gorgeous together. Sara was drawn to him before she knew who, or what, he is. She recognises him and instantly has his back.
Seeing beloved characters, namely Mikhail, Raven, Shea and Jacques always makes me smile.

I'm not sure if it was the book or the narrators but I kept zoning out, it was actually kind of boring and nothing to grab my attention

I'm going back thru the series so I can refresh my memory and read the last couple that I've missed... I have to say this book is definitely one of my favorites in the series... This one for me is when the series starts to get really good. Oh how I've missed this series now that I am going back to reread it.

3.5 stars.

So, I liked the action plot of this book, and Sara's past made me feel awful for her. I loved how strong she was, too. Falcon was likable enough, though after reading about Darius and Julian, he doesn't stand out all that much, aside from the fact that he's really old and nobody even knew he was still alive. Overall, this was satisfying, a little taste of the Carpathians. Looking forward to the next one.

I'm so glad I continued to read this series after so much time has passed. Christine Feehan is a master storyteller of paranormal romance. This felt like returning to an old favorite show that you forgot was good. This one was very spicy and endearing as Falcon an ancient from before Mikel's time a ruler, has met Sarah his lifemate, a human. He is struggling with being on the edge of turning and investigate these new feelings and emotions he hasn't had in over a thousand years.

This is one of my favorite stories in the series. I wish it was a full novel instead of a novella. She introduces Carpathians older than Mikhail. Falcon was sent out to hunt vampires far from his home by Mikhail’s father, Vlad. Falcon has given up all hope when he finds his Lifemate Sara. It is a romantic story, Falcon writes a diary for his Lifemate centuries ago that Sara finds, this story is full of action and passion. A great read in a great series. A must read for the fans of this genre,
