This book really isn’t written well. Everything is told instead of shown, the characters’ motivations are nonexistent or not believable at all, and there are typos left and right (misspellings, using the incorrect word, odd sentence structures). It’s really surface-level and obvious with no real character development and so didn’t hold my interest well. From their first meeting and through the first half, the MC is also like, “I’m so attracted to him, but no! Stop that, me! He’s my enemy!” Ughhhh

Spice AND plot?! I'll admit, I was skeptical about this one just because it seemed like it would be a shallow/basic book and I had it on my TBR for the days I needed something easy to read... well this not only had a great depth to it, but the charisma and connection between our MC the Shadow King, Caliban, and our FMC the sun princess, Adora, was amazing. I loved that (mild spoiler) there wasn't a third act breakup. There were a few days where Adora and Caliban didn't speak because he was freezing her out and we never really got a reason why... but they quickly made up and were inseparable afterwards. I really enjoyed this!
