I did really like the beginning and middle of the book, but it died down to “telling” not “showing” towards the end where it felt a little rushed in some aspects.
Overall i did really like all the characters and their differences, and it was nice to see a more “human” like FMC where she had flaws and was learning from them but never outgrew them just because she met the guys. i found that to be more realistic than the normal “i am suddenly fixed” approach a lot of authors do.
i liked how this tied into the last book and seeing little cameos as well. i’m debating on continuing with the series now or leave it for later, but it’s something i can see myself reading more of.

While there was a lot of compelling drama and trauma (check trigger warnings) in this book, none of it was resolved satisfactorily to me. Nothing about the way Whitney was drawn into the pack felt natural to the story or like it had much justification within the story.

The book does have an interesting way of looking at childhood trauma and how someone might heal from it. But that doesn’t make the book worth a read to me.

Personally I found the book throughly disappointing after being so absorbed by the first of the series.
