Although the author spent a lifetime selling books he didn't learn anything about writing them. This rather muddled, incoherent, disjointed and self indulgent ramble through the mid of a book seller is a let down despite the very good cover art.  Perhaps the author learnt this trick during all his years of selling!

A curious look into people's relationship with books through the ages. And, the role of the booksellers within said history. Overall, everything is well written. But, some parts feel too fast-paced with rapid-fire examples, making some examples feel shallow, without details.

A heart warming account of everything to do with people and the books they read, collect, scribble in, sell and buy. Had a lovely time reading :)
