**Re-read 12/11/11-12/13/11**

This is the continuing series of Alanna who wants to be a knight more than anything so much so she poses as a boy. Alanna comes from the country of Tortall where woman are not allowed to be knights but that doesn't stop her. She poses as a boy for many years until she earns her knighthood.

This is another wonderful book by Ms Pierce. By the way today is Ms Pierce birthday so Happy Birthday!! I highly recommend these books they are perfect escapism for me.

Every time I reread one of these novels I am newly enchanted. Bravo Ms. Pierce!!

I love Alanna. I wish more female warrior characters were written like her, especially in fantasy.

Obviously, the series is written with a much younger audience in mind and I would have loved having every character and event more fleshed out. However, I very much love the atmosphere Pierce creates. I mean, how could you not.
