Ha! She snuck this in when we weren't looking!

Soren and Kingsley return to the Chateau when the madame is "dying".

Soren was particularly vendictive towards the woman who hurt his property, and I loved it!

Kingsley reminded me of his younger, school-days self.

Nora and the rest were not included. Strictly Kingsley and Soren.

I will be 70 years old and still hopelessly in love with these books and characters, I swear it. Consistently nothing but greatness. Any time with Søren and Kingsley (and lets not forget Nora even though she’s not in this book), is time well spent, no matter how short. I savour every word, and am rewarded with perfection, each and every time.

Adorable little sequel to the Chateau. I loved the flashback to Maine, and got a little choked up along with teenage King. Also when he woke up in the middle of the night and tried to get out of the cot bed.

"Decapitation is my hard limit."
