I get that Abby was suppose to be relatable and all that but I honestly didn't felt that, which was weird because all of her flaws is similar to mines. The way it was written though made my feel disconnected to it, it feel like it was trying too hard to be relatable that ended up being the opposite. And I have so much in common with Abby that it was weird I felt that way, I didn't enjoy it but it wasn't a bad novella, I'm sure some people enjoyed and could relate.

I'm a huge fan of Jennifer Armentrout and her Wait for You series is probably my favorite contemporary series so I was beyond excited to see Colton get a novella.
The story opens with Abby walking to her car after a disastrous date where the guy actually had the nerve to say "You'd be really hot if you'd just lose some weight". With those thoughts replaying in her head she hears something in an alley she's walking by and she ends up seeing a murder. Stunned, she drops her keys catching the attention of the killer after which she turns around and starts running until she runs into someone and they end up calling the police for her. When she is at the police station she is waiting on the homicide detectives to interview only to find out that one of them was a guy that she went to high school with. Enter Colton Anders, older brother of Reece who we meet in Fall in With Me. Turns out these 2 had crushes on each other in high school, and let me just say that I am a sucker for second chance romances.
This is a quick read that has some incredibly sweet moments and made me want my own Colton. And I absolutely adore Abby. It was nice to see a female character that not only had insecurities but she acknowledged them as well and began working on overcoming them. Normal people have insecurities about how their body and this novella did a good job of putting that into perspective and showing that you do not normally see yourself the same way that other people see you.

This novella is a part of the 1001 Dark Nights Universe series written by many wonderful authors. Each book in this series is a standalone title so they don’t necessarily have to be read in any particular order. This book is also a part of the Wait For You series and is best read after Fall With Me. I just really enjoyed this story and I just didn’t want it to end. I just lost myself in and I just couldn’t get enough of these interesting characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.

THIS WAS SO CUTE!! I was smiling like crazy the whole time- I'm actually so mad that I originally skipped this novella while reading the series.
I'm now in love with Colton and his shamless flirting. Abby was a relatable sweetheart. I, too, would quickly fall in love with a man if he showed up at my house every day with baked goods.

Droom van mij is een novelle die je met gemak in een dag – of een paar uur – uitleest. Het is een lekker vlot verhaal waar je doorheen vliegt. De personages spreken mij direct aan, maar dat komt ook doordat ik ze al ken doordat ik de gehele Wacht op mij-serie al heb gelezen. Er zijn twee zaken die ik iets minder vond, en dat zijn de patsboem-liefde en het gebruik van Abby’s overleden man. Verder heb ik echter genoten van dit boek. Wil je Droom van mij op de juiste plek in de serie lezen? Dan lees je Droom van mij tussen Val voor mij en Kies voor mij.
