2.5 stars, because this felt sincere even if it is impossible to take the story seriously given the number of times the phrase 'Head PORF' is used (19 for the curious) and PORF in general.
Unfortunately the glee with which I read Head PORF et al slowly began to wane, mostly because while it remained funny, it was incredibly jarring, especially given the fact that the book seemed unaware of how jarring it was. The dialogue is questionably Olde Tymey (not always a turn off admittedly, and though I prefer generally that people give up and use modern dialogue instead of trying to write Period Dialogue and doing it poorly), I failed to engage with the characters, there was an astonishing amount of telling and an equally astonishing lack of showing, and frankly it could use another editor.

The messages (be confident in yourself, you are worthy, ladies are cool) were consistently said aloud by multiple characters and in fairness not often contradicted by the story, which is more than a lot of technically better written books can say, and I felt like the author had fun writing it, so I can't hate it much. I kind of want to pat it on the head and tell it that I'm glad it tried.

DNF @ 53%. I am confusion. I was just put in the middle of a story, and I have no idea what’s going on. I don’t understand the 2 organizations, and I can’t differentiate them.
I also wish I would have seen some of the previous interaction between the hero and the heroine, before he had to leave the law firm. That would have been interesting.
