Volume 1 is great introduction to the manga. Everything is laid out clear and there aren’t too many characters to worry about (at least for now.) World building is straightforward and the magic system (I guess you can call it that) is easy to follow. Art wise, it is gorgeous and not too confusing to look at. I can’t wait to read more!

Not a bad start.
Its like a hybrid of the Witcher and a way less dark version of Berserk.

Omg this is so, so good! Following a member of a warrior race that is half human, half monster, we are introduced to Clare the Claymore as she runs into a human boy, Raki, who decides he will follow her wherever she goes. The adventure begins!

I'd give this volume 2.5, if I could. I've heard great things about this series, so I gave it a try. I see that the story has potential, but the first volume really didn't grab my attention that much. The characters are quite hollow from the start; I would have loved some more explanations on "why" and "when", especially concerning Clare and her Money Man. Perhaps that comes later in the series... For now, it was so-so. The art style, however, was refreshingly different and very nice. 'A' for that. I'll likely continue on to volume 2, but not right away.

Eh...

I really wasn’t into this one too much. It was slow and I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series.
