Meh!
It was fun to read and was organized in a cool way, but all of this info could be found online. It oscillated between really lovely info and great poems, and incredibly stereotypical info about astrology (mercury IN retrograde? They don’t believe in rising signs? They believe in cusps???)
I’m not sure what this book was really bringing to the table. It would be a great book for someone who hasn’t ever heard details about Astrology but is into it right now because of ~pop culture~
But if you have co-star, you probably are familiar with all this info
I did love the poems included for each sign

Just could not finish this book. Although some of the info was interesting, the way it was presented became tedious and a bit annoying.

The poem written for each sign leaves much to be desired as I do think it is integral to the premise of the book.
As to the rest, call me a salty Capricorn (cap sun, cap moon, gemini rising!) but the writing style did not appeal to me. I tried to make it work because I think it's objectively interesting, but each page that passed I felt as though I had to work through, which is not what one wants from a lighter read.

Fun read! Definitely not a book I would recommend to delve deep into Astrology by any means.

The cover, I thought, well, the book is going to be all hip beatnik fun.

Not what I was expecting which I guess is my fault. Basically a horoscope in book form. Parts of it were okay but it felt like at least 2/3 of the book was hastily written filler - vapid and meaningless.

I love the trust I felt while reading. Dimitrov and Lasky are both amazing poets and writers, so if you’re looking for either an introduction to astrology or a new perspective on stuff you already know, this book is for you. Definitely going to keep returning to it.

This book is a good distillation of all the signs if you struggle to remember the traits of any sign but your own, like I do. I appreciate the way this book was laid out, with the same subsections for each sign, including what they’re like as a lover and a friend, how they text and what their imagination is like, and a playlist of songs by artists with the same sign.

Naturally, not every comment is right on the mark — but I will admit I recognized my dearest friends unmistakably in the sections for their signs, albeit with some embellishments. And I like the levity of the book, given its subject matter. Dorothea Lasky and Alex Dimitrov are talented at weaving stories in print just as they are online via their Twitter account and podcast as the Astro Poets.

Astrology is not an exact science, but it offers a beautiful way of looking at the world and the people in it. This book does a good job of showing you the poetry of the planets and their influence on us, whether it’s real or mythologized — or a bit of both.

And yes, I did read the section on Leos twice.

Like their Twitter, lovely and thoughtful, often spookily accurate. If only the chapters were a bit longer!
