Okay, so I definitely read the description wrong when I picked this book up because I thought it was gonna be friends to lovers with Lanie and Madison for waaay too long before realizing that wasn’t the case. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this book. It had just the right amount of cutesy and curiousness. While I grew to love Lanie, the entire book Madison annoyed the crap out of me. But she did so in a “love to hate her” kind of way. Overall, this was a fun and inspiring short read with a nice HEA!

I fan casted Madison as Reneé Rapp and Lanie as Pauline Chalamet, as well as Lana Condor as Val and Alfred Enoch as Charming (a young Alfred since he is too old now).

for fans of....

Disney, elaborate Starbucks orders, books about travel, coming of age, friendship as the main plot, LGBT main character, magic

A nostalgia-filled read with lovable main characters. Two best friends and coffee-shop coworkers Lanie and Madison navigate being 19 and all of the ensuing decisions together in this fun, Disney-themed vacation novel. I picked this up initially as part of a library scavenger hunt (category: fiction with a map inside the front cover) and I’m glad I decided to check it out.

I really don’t read YA very often so my comparison options are limited! Although the lack of communication trope is not my favourite.... I did enjoy the unique setting of a new Disney attraction, the realistic relationship struggles, and the satisfying and sweet ending that placed friendship front and center over romance. Super wholesome and just a fun read to start the year!

It was so dull! I don’t know what I expected from queer romance written for Disney.

Very cute, very gay, very Disney. Madison was probably a little too Disney obsessed for me, but I get that was the point.

The main character is the worst kind of Disney adult. The story is not compelling which doesn’t help when the characters are so unlikeable. Reads like bad FanFiction.

I freakin loved this book! Was it cheesy? Yes. Did it make my disney heart happy? Yes. It was weird relating to both main characters, one for the disney loving aspect, and the other for the anxiety. I could picture so many scenes in my head based of the movie and what I imagine they would look like in real life. I did find myself wanting a bit more backstory on the evil stepmother but that was a minor thought, more just a curiosity.
