What a bizarre book. And I mean that in the best way possible. It was weird and I wasn't expecting the way that the story went.

Sparse and chilling. Would recommend going in blind, I’m glad I did. The use of HOA rules is brilliant. Easily read in one sitting.

First book of the year.
Quick read. Super bizarre! 
One of the weirdest books I've read in a while. 
Enjoyed it but was lost about what's happening for the first two thirds of the book. 
Personally didn't find it scary, just slightly unsettling. I didn't mind that as I don't really read much horror but if you're looking for a suspenseful horror/thriller then this probably isn't the book for you.   

Loved the writing style and the descriptions. Overall stunning prose! 
The book was super visual and I think it would make a fantastic movie if it's ever adapted. 

The animal/people names bit was clever, but once I caught on to the fact that they were most definitely actual animals when Sophia presented them with the gifts it became a little silly. 

Mixed feelings on the Adam/Eve thing.
